John Atkinson-Brown on Trumpet

John has been playing trumpet for seven years now. He passed ABRSM grade 6 recently and is currently studying for his grade 7. He was inspired to take up trumpet by his two elder children, who began playing trombone and Euphonium respectively in their primary school. Although John had wanted to play many years earlier when he was in secondary school. He says he just didn't get the opportunity then and when the chance came recently he just had to go for it. John's trumpeting heroes include Wynton Marselis and James Morrison (from Australia). John plays a Yamaha YTR6335J which was designed by James Morrison. He also owns a Yamaha flugelhorn YFH635T and a Besson Sovereign 928 cornet which he plays in church.
